Day-to-day activities such as poor posture and repetitive movements contribute to imbalances in the soft connective tissues that surround our bodies—called fascia—resulting in possible pain, discomfort, and stiffness.
With just a tennis ball and your own body weight, you can learn how to target areas of tension to provide relief from pain, increase flexibility, and rebuild range of motion. After this workshop, you’ll be able to release discomfort and improve functionality with your very own self-massage! These techniques take just a few minutes, and are great to use after sitting, before and after exercise, or just to find some deep relaxation.
This workshop will focus on the shoulders and the hips, offering simple techniques that can be practiced at home and integrated in your day whenever you’d like.
We’ll begin with a short series of yoga postures as a baseline, then the majority of our time will be spent learning how to utilize tennis balls to pinpoint various muscles and trigger points and ease into releasing these areas. This workshop is for all levels—even if you have never practiced yoga before.
