About this Event

Myles Goodwyn was born in 1948 in Woodstock, New Brunswick and grew up in Waverley, Nova Scotia. Myles is singer, guitarist, songwriter and producer of the multi-Platinum selling rock band, April Wine. The band was formed in N.S. in 1969. Myles has shaped and directed the group from its earliest beginnings. To date, April Wine has sold over 5 million recordings worldwide.

Myles Goodwyn’s voice is as distinctive and immediately recognizable as his song writing skills are prolific.

Myles and the other members of April Wine were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall Of Fame in 2010.

Myles won the SOCAN National Achievement Award in 2002. He received the prestigious East Coast Music's, Helen Creighton Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008.

In 2016 he released his memoir, Just Between You and Me, which became an instant Bestseller on the Globe and Mail`s Non-Fiction List. His second book was a fictional story entitled, Elvis and Tiger. It was published in 2018 and was also well received.

Myles released, Myles Goodwyn and Friends Of The Blues, a new recording containing 11 original blues songs and it earned him international acclaim and a Juno Nomination for Blues Recording of the Year 2019. The recording won the ECMA award for Blues Recording of the Year 2019.

The following year Myles released, Friends of The Blues 2, it was also very well received and won ECMA for, Blues Album Of The Year 2020.

In 2022, Myles released a new collection of 11 original songs on a recording called, LONG PANTS.

The songs on Long Pants include, Darling Where Are You, that addresses the subject of the missing and murdered indigenous women in Canada. It also contains a song called, Some Of These Children (They Never Grew Up) co-written with life-long friend and original April Wine member, Jim Henman. The song is about the issue of the unmarked graves of boys and girls, victims of the Canadian Residential School system here in Canada.

FOR UKRAINE, also from Long Pants, was written in support of the citizens of war torn Ukraine and won the SIFA award for Best Social Impact Music/Art 2022
