Friends Together is partnering with MyMichigan Health to bring their MyKitchen Teaching Series to our building in Alpena. We will be a virtual hub for classes. This means people have the option of gathering with others and participating via zoom on our big screen in our group room. All handout materials will be made available at our site. Class Description-
Soup for the Soul: Cooking Healthy and Delicious Bowls
Warm your heart and nourish your body with our delightful cooking class, Soup for the Soul. This engaging and informative class will guide you through the art of creating delicious, wholesome soups that are both comforting and nutritious. Participants will explore a variety of recipes that can be kept shelf stable for a last minute meal, plant-based options for that under the weather comfort food feel, and learn how to prepare healthier, low sodium broths that can be the base of many of your nourishing soups. Instructors will share tips for healthy substitutions, flavor-enhancing spices, and ways to make your soups even more nourishing. Participants will discover how to turn simple ingredients into meals that warm both the body and spirit.
