January is a month that invites us to look at our dreams, goals and visions. What is your vision for this year?
What would you like to happen?
What do you dare to wish for?
In this workshop, we will take a closer look at our dreams and visions through the use of our voices and visual-art making.
You might think now:
...but I don't have artistic experience or talent
...I am not comfortable with my voice
...I don't know how to sing
And I think:
It doesn't matter. It shouldn't stop you.
This is not a space for aesthetic judgement, but for a free and spontaneous expression. You will be able to test what feels right for you, and you won't be forced to do anything you don't feel like doing.
What can you expect?
In the first part of the workshop, we will gently wake up and meet our voices. We will play with exercises designed to make you come in closer contact with your voice - not just the sound of it, but the experience of how it travels through you, how it meets others - and how it can guide you towards your visions and dreams. We may use some old folk melodies, or make up something new.
In the second part of the workshop, we will create artworks similar to "vision boards". You will have time to reflect on your visions and wishes, and to make a visual representation of them through using printed images and various art materials.
There also will be time for resting and integrating what you experienced in your creative process.
