About this Event

My First Love’s Artist Cafe, in partnership with Sistastyle Productions, is an event focused on gathering people of all walks to conjoin on the most special complex experience in the life of every artist: love. Above all, the "artxperience" is not designed to be a one-sided conversation! This artist cafe is an open discussion on love and connection between select creatives and the community. It is all about exploring the artist's experience of love and creation in collaboration with the audience. This event integrates the attendees with the performers to engage in this open discussion on connection. The three hour event will be held on October 27th from 6:30pm-9:30pm. 11 selected performers will share their unique perspectives related to love through their multi-faceted forms of art in 8-10 minute sets. The showcased creatives will create an artistic dialogue with the audience to incorporate the community into their expression live and in real time during their set.This is an opportunity for creatives to empower and embrace leadership in the community. Engaging their collective with new skills and perspectives through their unique artistic approaches to connection in the human experience.

This year's theme of “Oh the Places Love Will Go” is highlighted by our partner’s production of “Summer Breeze” an original stage play by Mary McCallum set in the 1970s about the complexities of love on a Black owned resort.
