My First 1000 Days – Starting Solids and Staying Active

Join us for a relaxed, friendly free session designed for parents and carers of babies aged 0-12 months.
You’ll meet other families, enjoy a meal together, and take part in short, practical sessions led by trained family wellbeing workers.

This event focuses on two key topics from our My First 1000 Days programme:

Starting Solids & Responsive Feeding

• Recognising when your baby is ready for solids

• Understanding feeding cues

• Safe food practices

• Looking at commercial baby foods

• Learning about sugar content and making informed choices

Physical Activity Myths

• Benefits of postpartum exercise

• Myth‑busting common worries

• Safe activity ideas

• Information on local options: leisure centres, Bump & Baby Fit, Walk & Talk, and Active Parents groups

About the research

These sessions are part of the My First 1000 Days study run by the University of Leeds.
After registering, a Family Wellbeing Worker will get in touch to talk about the session, check eligibility, and discuss any needs you might have.Taking part in the research (sharing your feedback at the end) is completely voluntary.
