Every community has a story to tell. Can you imagine what Tanglin Halt would look like without its people? Do you think it will still be the same? What do you want our future generation to remember about Tanglin Halt or Queenstown?M y Community carries out cultural mapping exercises in Queenstown where we befriend residents, conduct oral history interviews and map the intangible and tangible cultural assets within the community. In this way, even when Queenstown is redeveloped, we can have a detailed picture of not just what the neighbourhood looked like, but how people lived in this space. This is where you come in!
We are looking for new volunteers to chat with uncles, aunties, boys and girls over old photographs and artefacts in Queenstown. We are also looking for facilitators who are keen to co-curate tours and programmes with the different stakeholders for My Community Festival 2025.
If you are interested in being a part of our cultural mapping, community archives, community design team or run some of our wildly popular MCF2025 programmes, join us on Saturday, 12 April 2025 for an engagement session to learn more about My Community.

About My Community
Since its inception in 2010, My Community has made its mark in the arts, cultural and heritage sectors. Its work has spurred the growth and development of a common-man approach to history where everyday experiences of Singaporeans are chronicled and celebrated.
Today, My Community’s core mission remains the same. The non-profit organisation works to capture and preserve community stories, reconnect people to places and social networks, and deepen heritage appreciation and expression across the country. It also advocates for greater community involvement in cultural management and urban governance processes.
