Dallas Police Department Office of Community Affairs is hosting the 2nd My College Life: Campus Safety Fair for 2021. This event is for first time college students held on Saturday July 24, 2021 10am-12pm. 1400 Botham Jean Blvd Dallas, Tx 75215.
We are targeting first time college students but any college student can attend this event. Parents can attend with students as well. Attendees will get the chance to hear from a panel of local college police departments as well as Dallas Police leadership on ways to maintain personal safety while on a college campus and much more.
Disclaimer: We will discuss Rape Awareness and Domestic Abuse.
Speakers Include:
Dallas Area Rape Crisis Center - They will address sexual assaults on campus.
Frost Bank: Money Tip and Tools as students navigate being on their own for the first time away from home and how to manage their money.
Detective Anthony Newsom - Social Media / Sex Trafficking YOUTH/ CRIMES AGAINST PERSONS
Police Departments: Dallas Police Department, Dallas College, College, UNT University , DBU University Police Department, SMU Police Department.
Some of the Safety Topics include: SOCIAL MEDIA, DRUGS AND ALCOHOL AWARENESS, SAFE DRIVING. WATER SAFETY, AND PERSONAL SAFETY. CONFLICT RESOLUTION, CHOOSING GOOD FRIENDS, MONEY MATTERS, SUICIDE PREVENTION, RAPE AWARENESS, HUMAN TRAFFICKING, AND MUCH MORE.
Parking: Visitors lot connected to our building. Free parking in between our building and 7"eleven. It is a paid lot but you can park there for Saturday only. Parking at Meters must pay!
