My Breast Health - A Breast Screening Awareness Day
This relaxed, informative session is designed for individuals with a learning disability or who are neurodiverse. The breast screening department will be closed to the public and transformed into a calm, quiet, and welcoming space.
You will have the chance to explore the department at your own pace, ask questions, and learn more about breast screening and breast health in a supportive environment.
Carers are welcome too, with or without the person they support.
What to Expect:
- Guided tours of our screening rooms
- Tea, coffee & cake
- Tips on how to check your breasts confidently
- Bra fitting advice from an expert
- Free goodie bags with easy-read info & treats
- Support from Community Learning Disability Nurses
- Fun games and activities
Our friendly team will be there all day to offer support and answer any questions.
Therapy dogs will be available during the 1:30pm-2:30pm slot. They will be available to offer emotional support, reduce stress, and bring a little joy to your day.
Book your FREE tickets! Each ticket includes entry for you and a guest so you're welcome to bring someone along for support. We have time slots available throughout the day:
- 10:00am - 11:00am
- 11:00am - 12:00pm
- 12:00pm - 1:00pm
- 1:30pm - 2:30 pm (Therapy dogs availble for support)
- 2:30pm - 3:30pm
