About this Event
Mx Yaffa (they/she) is a queer, trans, Muslim indigenous Palestinian working at the intersection of activism, education, and community-building. They are currently touring the US with their first poetry book, Blood Orange, processing the violence of settler-colonialism and genocide as well as survival of queer identities under state violence. They speak of hope, of world-building, and of togetherness. Their second book, "Inara: Light to Utopia" is a collection of essays from queer Muslim Palestinians on liberation, freedom, love and community. It explores themes of intersectional struggle, love as a radical act, and the necessity of visionary hope. Mx Yaffa completed a masters' degree at Queen's University Belfast in 2021 and is delighted to be able to return in an open Belfast to meet with the community.
