Join the Mesilla Valley Audubon Society for our October monthly meeting where we will hear presentations from multiple NMSU students about their research work at NMSU. Thomas Huycke, and undergraduate in Fish, Wildlife, and Conservation Ecology, will talk about his work study avian carcass persistence rates in the Chihuahuan Desert. Alexander Allison, a MS student in Biology, will discuss his work with Great Green Macaws in Costa Rica. Lastly, Dylan Osterhaus and Whitney Watson, both PhD students at NMSU, will talk about light pollution and avian migration, and Rosy-finches respectively.This meeting will be held on Zoom (email us at mesillavalleyaudubon (at) gmail.com for the link) and in person at Knox Hall at NMSU. Note that the doors lock at 7 p.m., so arrive before then for access to the building. Social time is from 6:30 to 7 and the meeting begins promptly at 7 p.m.
The meeting is at Knox Hall Room 142 (The building is on the northwest corner of Frenger and Espina on the NMSU campus), and the room is on the first floor, in the southeast corner. Cookies and punch will be served.
