Arts Cheyenne and the Alternative Arts Project are excited to partner on a new series designed with musicians in mind. This free, 3-part series covers basic topics for emerging and up-and-coming area musicians to learn more about how to be successful in the business. This first course will start with how to market yourself as a musician, including what things you should have to start building a fan base and what things you need to be able to get booked. We’ll also cover how to create impactful content, and how to best present yourself as an artist. Features panelists Matt Bacon, Founder of Dropout Media & Bacon Bits (remote presentation), Renee Jelinek, Founder and Marketing Director at The Lincoln, and Kenna Ortiz, Marketing Manager and Photographer at The Lincoln.
Next up, we’ll discuss the do’s and don'ts of reaching out to venues to inquire about playing there. We’ll also cover the process of working with a venue, how to engage with sound and light engineers, and what to know about putting on a good performance to keep scoring gigs into the future.
