Learn how to dance TO the music and not just with it! We'll hone our ear, run through exercises, and experiment with moves to align your dance to patterns and changes we hear in the music, including how to end a dance musically with dips. This is a LEVEL 2 class. You should be able to do 3 consecutive swingouts comfortably to take this class. The third class in this series (August 21) will be an extended social dance, giving you the opportunity to experiment in a safe setting and workshop things with instructors and each other.THURSDAY SCHEDULE

Social Dance & Practice (all levels) | 7:45 - 8:15 PM
Level 2 Lesson | 8:15 - 9:15 PM
VENUE: Masonic Lodge. This is down the street from the Iowa City Public Library. There is free parking in the Chauncey parking ramp after 6 p.m.
COST: $10 per evening or $5 for students.
This series starts on August 7 and ends on August 28. We recommend attending the entire 4-lesson series because concepts and moves will build on each other throughout each lesson. However, drop-ins are welcome anytime, with the understanding that they may not get the most out of the lesson, having missed prior lessons in the series.
