Join musician and luthier Robert Worth for a deeply relaxing hour of restorative sound healing, as he will play various instruments that he has made. This event will take place at Unity of Chattanooga, 105 McBrien Road, Chattanooga, Tennessee on January 10th at 2 o'clock.Listen to music played on a meditation lyre, dulcimer, kantele and tongue drum, designed to release tension and help you unwind. This practice is for everyone, encouraging deep relaxation and calm.
Settle in for an hour-long session where the soothing tones from the instruments will ease you into a meditative state. You'll be enveloped in the healing vibrations of sound.
Please dress comfortably and bring comfort items: yoga mats, cushions, pillows, sleepmasks, etc—that will help you feel cozy as you lie down or sit to fully absorb the experience. Leave feeling refreshed, restored, and deeply connected.
The meditation with Robert playing will begin at 2 o'clock with Linda Davenport reciting a short meditation. He will play for approximately one hour and at that time, he will request a number of attendees to participate in a special way. 8 to 10 people (maybe more) will be invited one at a time, to play the meditation lyre, sitting in a circle---some without using their eyes.
Participants who feel comfortable enough to wear a sleepmask are asked to sit in the circle and the meditation lyre will be passed from person to person. Participants wearing a sleepmask will be able to focus more intensely on the auditory experience of music. This can help them connect more deeply with the emotional and therapeutic aspects of the music.
There are no wrong notes on the meditation lyre, anyone can play. There will be no worries about playing well, play slowly, just a few notes, strum, anyway you like.
