A transatlantic cabaret, with performers from Brazil and Canada, online - and on the big screen with lots of special 'in person' activities at Halton Mill near Lancaster. Raising funds to pay the performers and also support three Amazonian causes .

What’s Musical Journeys ‘25?
An international online and hybrid cabaret featuring musicians who Fiona Frank met while travelling across Brazil and Canada in 2024 :
Mary Beth Carty, Nova Scotia Canadian Traditional Folk Singer of the Year 2024
Carmen Guérard, one-row accordion virtuoso from Montreal, with pianist Jean Rheaume
Cacuriá Balaio das Rosas, Afro-Brazilian dance group from São Luís, Brazil,
Gilles Losier and the Famille Leblanc - virtuoso 89 year old pianist and violin player, along with a fabulous father/daughters multi-instrumental musical family - guardians of the New Brunswick Acadian tradition,
Yene Velt - Montreal based trad Klezmer ensemble with fiddles and Tsimbl

'In person' tickets , £20 (low waged/student £10)
'On line' tickets £15 (low waged/student £5)
Gourmet Brazilian Veggie/Vegan Buffet, 6 p.m.; £15
You can join on Zoom, or attend in person at Halton Mill near Lancaster, where the international musicians will be beamed in on a big screen with great sound, and where there’ll also be:
• Capoeira Angola Ogum performing live
• Batala Lancaster bringing Brazilian vibes to Halton
• And a gourmet Brazilian buffet and Brazilian artwork to bring the space to life
And don’t forget – this is more than a concert.
At least a quarter of all funds raised will support three projects connected to the Amazon:
• The Dom Phillips Institute, founded by Dom’s widow to take forward his legacy of providing a voice for Indigenous defenders in the Amazon
• A rap project for young artists in Altamira, in the heart of the Amazon
• A musical instrument distribution initiative for remote Indigenous villages near Tefé, Amazonas state
