We are so excited to share our next fundraiser with you in February -- a musical dinner theater featuring the musical comedy “I Do! I Do!: A Musical About Marriage” at Upstairs at the Grotto in Eureka Springs.
“I DO! I DO!” is a TONY winning musical comedy first produced on Broadway in 1966 by David Merrick starring Mary Martin and Robert Preston (originally directed by Gower Champion, book and lyrics by Tom Jones, music by Harvey Schmidt). It is based on the Jan de Hartog play “The Fourposter” which had 560 performances and won numerous awards.
Local director Gene Flake will direct this musical, and the cast includes local Berryville actress Juli Tapken starring as Agness and local Eureka Springs actor Justin Robins starring as George. The musical tells the story of Agnes and George’s marriage from their wedding night to 35-years later depicting healthy relationship dynamics with a light-hearted flair – a welcome contrast to toxic cycles of domestic violence.
The play will be performed on February 19th, 20th and 21st at 7:30 pm and will have a matinee performance on Sunday, February 22nd at 3:00 pm. Ticket prices will be $79 per evening and $69 for the matinee. Ticket prices will include gourmet dinner prepared by Grotto Wood-Fired Grill and Wine Cave. Special rates will be available for VIP group table reservations. And a very limited number of non-dinner tickets at $25 will also be available. This show is sure to sell out!
