PRAx and the School of Visual, Performing and Design Arts Present: Music à la Carte: Morris Northcutt (Trumpet) with Lauren Servias (Collaborative Pianist) The School of Visual, Performing and Design Arts’ lunchtime “brown bag” concert series, Music à la Carte, relaunches with a new schedule and location in the beautiful Toomey Lobby at PRAx! This month we present Morris Northcutt with Lauren Servias on piano.
Morris Northcutt is a distinctive trumpet virtuoso known for his lyricism, artistry and the ability to cross seamlessly between classical, jazz and folk traditions. A Global Music Award medalist and Schilke Performing Artist, he has performed with diverse ensembles including Mannheim Steamroller, The Blues Brothers Reunion Band, Critical Mass Big Band, the Seattle Symphony Chamber Orchestra, Tacoma Symphony and more.
In 2025, Northcutt appeared as guest soloist with the Miami Symphony, performing before an audience of more than 11,000. He has also served for nearly 30 years as principal cornetist of the internationally recognized Tacoma Concert Band.
