Music Without Borders: Pictures at an Exhibition showcases a wide range of sounds, from bold new voices to timeless classics. You will hear Jupiter, Colossus by Chelsea Komschlies, one of this year’s Louisville Orchestra Creators Corps composers, whose music is known for its vivid energy and striking colors. Harpist Grace Roepke brings elegance and warmth to Debussy’s Sacred and Profane Dances, performed with strings. The evening culminates in Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, orchestrated by Maurice Ravel, a thrilling tour through musical “portraits” that capture everything from playful sketches to grand, triumphant scenes.
The event will also feature artwork by students from DuPont Manual High School’s Visual Arts magnet, offering a unique collaboration between music and visual art.
The result is a night of variety, creativity, and powerful performances, all designed to make world-class music accessible and engaging for everyone.
