A message from Miss Alyssa:
Music should be a full body experience, and that's just what you'll get in this class! Shake, drum, dance, and sing along with us as we explore music and instruments together. Your family will experience the concepts of rhythm and tonality, explore a variety of instruments, and expand your repertoire of kid friendly music beyond "Baby Shark". Grownups, you will learn how to support your child's musical development and build memories that will last your family a lifetime. Scientifically, we know that music learning supports all learning, and to that end, you will enjoy activities that foster gross and fine motor development, language, and social interaction. Did you know that creating music as part of a group releases positive brain chemicals such as dopamine and endorphins? You are virtually guaranteed to leave each class with an extra dose of joy and a spring in your step.
This 6 week class series is geared toward children from birth to age 5, but open to ALL, and their grownups. Class size is limited for all families to have the best possible music making experience. Sign up today!
About Miss Alyssa:
Ten years ago, Alyssa discovered the magic of parent and child music classes while working as a professional nanny. She fell in love with the routine of creating together, the exposure to a variety of musical foundations and styles, and the freedom of exploration and play. For these reasons, she informally became a walking advertisement for childhood music programs, telling everyone she knew or met how to sign up. When her own children entered her life, it was a no-brainer that they would become music makers as soon as possible!
Many years later, she had the opportunity to make a career change. How could she not pursue training to teach others how to create and grow in music as a family? Armed with an elementary education degree from Millersville University, 18 years of teaching dance, and a lifetime of choir experience, she knew she would be more than adequately prepared for this new challenge.
**Families with more than one child will only receive one take-home kit for the class.
