Join us for art, live chamber music, and conversation in a program exploring what it means to be American. Songs are at the core of our identity as Americans, expressing the stories we tell about ourselves in a powerful and unifying way, and transcending our differences. Musicologist and classical radio host Jason Heilman joins Philbrook curator Susan Green in conversation to explore artwork from Philbrookâs current exhibition American Artists, American Stories and chamber music by American composers including Aaron Copland, George Gershwin, Leonard Bernstein, Amy Beach, Rodgers & Hammerstein, and more.
