About this Event
This concert features music composed by a citizen of France, an American, a Russian and two Canadians. Perhaps after they all walked into a bar together?
If you have never experienced symphonic music composed in the last century, then this concert is the place to start! We will feature violinist Victoria Yeh, as she performs the awesome Concerto for Jazz Violin & Orchestra as well as premiering her most recent composition, Winter in Canada, completed in August of 2024.
Additonally, the program includes Lili Boulanger's D'un matin de printemps, and the orchestra will sink their teeth in Violet Archer's Sinfonietta. Prokoviev's magical Lieutenant Kijé suite will close out this evening.
And did we mention that the Jazz violin concerto is going to be the Canadian premiere of that piece?
See you on February 1!
