Join the storied American String Quartet on Oct. 5 for an afternoon of classical and contemporary chamber music. The concert, which opens Newburgh Chamber Music’s 2025-26 season, starts at 3 p.m. at Cavalry Presbyterian Church in Newburgh.The program, “Four Centuries of Music”, will feature Mozart’s String Quartet No. 22, Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 7 (Op. 59, No. 1, and works by 20th and 21st century composers Vivian Fung and Caroline Shaw.
The quartet, which celebrated its 50th anniversary last year, is a favorite of Newburgh Chamber Music and its audiences. This concert will mark the quartet’s 14th appearance for NCM.
