Kindling: As friends, our goal is to bring music of all types to local communities. Kindling was formed in 2024 on the basis of bringing old and new classical ideas to audiences and showcasing the unique sounds of marimba and violin. Some of the works presented through our lens are originally for piano and violin, and the process of taking these works and adapting them to marimba has been a mindful experience, looking to make sure the integrity of works are not diminished through these arrangements while also creating something that is distinctly marimba, with its resonant and warm wood timbres mixing well with the violin’s soulful embrace.
