About this Event
Join us for the debut of our monthly event series on the first Fridays - Music Is Life - an evening of Music centered around community, connection and the healing power of the sound of music. December's featured artist is the amazing Rachel Mousie who inspired us with her stand for helpign others and the idea of charging a cover for a cause.
Tickets are $20 for One or $30 for Two - all procedes in December go to help Mohammed Abu Kwaik in Gaza, who lived with our SoHza family as a boy when he was being treated for burn wounds at Shriner's center. He later attended St. X highschool and became a part of our family and our communtiy. He is now grown with a family of his own and they are stranded in Gaza after being displaced for the last two years by the war.
With the cease fire the tent city they had lived in in Rafah with some acces to food, clean water and decent shelter from the elements was taken down and they returned to Gaza City only to find a pile of rubble where their home once stood...and yet still this family has hope. Mohammed himself is a writer and a poet and his words inspire us all. More of Mohammed's story and SoHza's connection to him is highlighted in the videos below.
On Decmeber 5th we shine a light on hope and healing and we invite you to join us in lifting up this family and circling our community around this cause and the difference we can all make, as helpless as we may feel from timem to time. We hope you will choose to join us and invite others - the more the merrier. Come when you can, leave when you must. As always food & drink will be shared. Bring a dish, if you like, but don't let that stop you from coming and partaking in the potluck. We can't wait to see you!
