The Band of the Royal Air Force College reaches for the sky in support of The Royal Air Forces Association with military marches, film scores and music from the greatest aerial conflict of World War II; the Battle of Britain.
Under the direction of the Royal Air Force’s Principal Director of Music, Wing Commander Richard Murray and special guest conductor & Royal Air Forces Association Ambassador, Anthony Inglis, join us to hear inspirational music composed to depict the magnificent feats of bravery in the air performed by one of the UK’s finest symphonic wind bands.
“Featuring Walton’s Spitfire Prelude & Fugue, Goodwin’s Battle of Britain March, Andrew Pearce’s F-35: Lightning II and John Williams’ Jedi Steps, the opportunity to hear Royal Air Force Music explore air and space at Chester Cathedral is not to be missed!”
Wing Commander Richard Murray
Principal Director of Music (RAF)
“For the first time, I shall be conducting one of the RAF’s great bands. Nine of my ancestors marched and listened to these bands, so in a very small way I am following them and filling a hole, absent with my generation. I am honoured to be an ambassador for Royal Air Forces Association and thrilled this concert will be raising funds to support the delivery of their welfare and wellbeing services”
