"What kind of music would you create if you felt like the world was coming to an end?" This was the question that birthed Music in the Heights's January concert - 'Music for the End of the World'. It's an eclectic and gravity-defying pairing of Oliver Messaien's masterpiece 'Quartet for the End of the Time' (premiered in a prisoner-of-war camp in 1941) and the lo-fi space travel music of Normal Mode (wsg Eric O'Daly). Additional live projection display by Michael Dause.
Quartet for the End of Time will feature:
Chris Martin, violin
Jill Collier, cello
Gary June, clarinet
Brendan Vincent, piano
Free admission.
Doors at 7:00 PM
Come, enjoy the music and be inspired!
