The sweet strains of the harp will fill the historic Old Swedes Church on Sunday, Sept. 14. Old Swedes Historic Site is pleased to present harpist Anne Sullivan in concert at 2 pm. Recitalist, chamber musician and symphonic soloist, Sullivan is also a preeminent teacher of the harp and music theory.The program will feature music written for harp by Rota, Zabel and Pierné, and familiar favorites by Handel, Debussy, Rachmaninoff. A special feature of this concert will be “Theme and Variations on a Swedish Folk Tune,” by Swedish harpist and composer Anton Edvard Pratté (1796-1875),” the Harpking of the North.”
Tickets, $10, available online or in person. Doors open at 1:30pm.
