Join us for a free concert of Traditional American Music in the Ten Broeck Mansion gardens with acclaimed singer-songwriter Deb Cavanaugh. Surrounded by historic beauty, enjoy timeless melodies that celebrate folk traditions and storytelling through song. Learn about the many unique musical instruments used in the early American tradition, and hear performances on the mountain dulcimer, limberjack and crankie. Bring a blanket or chair, and settle in for a soulful summer concert in the midst of the gracious Ten Broeck Mansion gardens.
Advance registration is required since space is limited. Please be sure to cancel your registration if you are not able to attend so others may participate. Thank you for understanding. For those with ADA needs, please reach out to us directly: 518-436-9826.
To make your visit enjoyable and safe for all:
1) By car: Please park in our Livingston Avenue lot, GPS address 136 Livingston Avenue, Albany NY. Free off-street parking is available. Our historic neighborhood has sidewalks for easy pedestrian access. See our website for information on public transportation.
2) Please wear comfortable shoes for walking on historic, sometimes uneven surfaces (no spike heels). Bags should be smaller than a backpack. Please do not touch historic museum collections. Bottled water may be brought into historic museum spaces.
3) Please bring your own lawn chairs or lawn blankets.
4) Water or non-alcoholic beverages may be brought. No food, please. No vaping or smoking. No alcohol. We are a pack-in, pack-out site (leave no trace). Please bring all waste home with you. Any visitors not following these policies will be asked to leave. Thank you for your understanding.
About the Musical Artist:
Deb Cavanaugh is an award-winning, seasoned singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and roots musician based in upstate New York. Her career spans decades and genres—from performing Duke Ellington’s sacred music as a teen to touring with her rock band General Eclectic. She’s played notable venues like Caffè Lena and The Linda in the Capital Region, and contributed to historic musical projects including the re-creation of a women’s orchestra from Birkenau, performing at St. John the Divine (NY, NY), Berlin, Germany, and Ravensbrück. With six recordings and international teaching experience, Deb blends traditional folk, blues, and rock with a deep reverence for musical heritage. She currently performs with Dandelion Wine, a rotating ensemble of talented collaborators. www.deb-cavanaugh.com
