Acclaimed vocal ensemble, Eklektika, bring their inspiring concert, Music & Peace, to Christ Church St Lawrence (Haymarket Sydney) on Saturday 25 May at 7.30 pm as part of a national tour to raise urgently needed funds for Médecins Sans Frontiers’ Israel-Gaza Appeal.The evening will open with a sublime meditation by Leaf Klevjer on Indian Tanpura, and the exquisite Bach Cello Suite No 2 in D Minor played by Rita Woolhouse, followed by an eclectic mix of original arrangements by award winning film and theatre composer, Dr Judy Stubbs from Purcell, Mozart, Max Bruch and Avo Part to George Harrison, Kate Bush and Radiohead, and new works including a fusion mass, Under One Sky, inspired by Gregorian and Sufi Chant and the moving poetry of human rights award-winning Palestinian poet, Mahmoud Darwish; and A Prayer (October 2023). Middle Eastern percussionist, Matt Bourne will also bring his special talents to the mix.
