The featured artist in this event is Arkady Futerman
A Victoria Resident since 2015, Arkady studied guitar performance at the University of Alaska Anchorage and Music History at the University of Victoria. His favorite Genres include folk, jazz, bluegrass and fingerstyle. He has been teaching in Canada and abroad for about 20 years.
Arkady performs as a bassist with Victoria based East European folk band Bucan Bucan and the Horsetail Bandits Trio . Since 2015, he has also performed on bass, guitar and uke-bass with various jazz bands in the Anchorage area, gypsy jazz group Swing49 and the Chad Meyer Trio.
Through his new music teaching business, Sunflower Music School, Arkady strives to create a supportive, fun environment for learning which is tailored to learners’ needs, knowledge and interests.
