Hello Salt Spring Families! I am very excited to announce that I have been recently certified as a Music Together teacher and I will be offering two weekly classes this Autumn for young children and their parents, beginning in October.
These classes are for young children, ages 0 through 5, and for the grown ups who love them. Parent participation is an essential aspect of class but no previous musical experience is necessary!
ABOUT MUSIC TOGETHER:
Music Together is an internationally recognized early childhood music and movement program to help little ones develop their innate musicality, while playing, dancing and singing along with the grown ups who love them!
Together as a community of families we will sing engaging and diverse child friendly songs from around the world, while moving to the beat, dancing with scarves and jamming on a variety of percussion instruments.

MORE ABOUT MUSIC TOGETHER:
Music Learning Supports All Learning®
In our research-based Music Together classes, musical benefits like learning how to sing in tune and how to keep a beat are developed, but it can also allow your child’s creativity, confidence and self-expression to blossom. Learning music supports your child’s overall development—something we call Music Learning Supports All Learning®. Active music-making creates unique connections in the brain that support your child’s language, social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development, too.
We Teach the Way Children Learn
We know that children learn differently than adults. They learn instinctively and constantly, and teach themselves through imitation and play, through being immersed in their environment, and through interaction with adults and older children. The family-like setting of Music Together classes creates a no-pressure learning environment which lets all kids learn at their own pace.
Your Role is Essential
You are your child’s most important music teacher! Young children learn through play and experimentation, but also by watching and listening to the grownups they love. Setting an example as an enthusiastic participator in music activities is the best thing any parent or caregiver can do to help set a child on the road to a lifelong love of music. Parents don't need to have music skills—they just need a desire to play and have fun with their children!
