Ever notice how mushrooms pop up in our lawn, gardens, compost, or trees? They seem to appear out of nowhere! We will explore how amazing fungi do the work of creating soil, releasing nutrients to surrounding plants, and of course make mushrooms.
We will also learn how to incorporate beneficial fungi and edible mushrooms into our landscapes, gardens and food forests.
Lin Conover, owner of Wood Song Mushrooms, LLC, first began learning about mushrooms through a deep dive into soil health and composting methods. With an appreciation for the integral role fungus has for our living planet, she began the process of identifying wild species and growing cultivated mushrooms. Wood Song Mushrooms now provides fresh mushrooms and related products, in addition to educational programs, nature/foraging walks and hands-on experiences.
