Come join us at the off-site Mycology Lab for Winding Brook Farms - mushrooms & more for an informative class about the benefits of eating and using mushrooms for wellness. A cooking demonstration, mushroom samples, and recipes will be provided. A tour of the lab will be provided.
Shannon Phillips and Teresa Higgins are both genuine mushroom enthusiasts. Together they manage a bespoke farm outside of downtown Monroe, NC. Shannon is a local mushroom educator with a decade of experience and is a certified wild mushroom forager. His fungal knowledge and extensive citizen scientist research are in demand by local businesses and universities. Teresa has completed research into the history of mushrooms that can promote better health and has benefited from them personally. She also has a delightful knowledge of how to cook tasty culinary mushrooms. Take advantage of this great team and learning opportunity right in your own backyard.
