Most people are familiar with mushrooms and may be able to identify a few. However, not many people know about the huge and important role mushrooms have played in the evolution of life on Earth. Recent studies have revealed that fungi provide communication paths between plants in a forest and are critical to the health of an ecosystem. Naturalist and Environmental Educator, Roseanne Guerra will introduce us to mushroom identification, including the most common edible and non-edible mushrooms in our area and will explore some of Georgia's most unusual fungi! Roseanne Guerra is a Master Birder, Naturalist and Environmental Educator who hails from New Orleans and moved to Atlanta in 1988. Her wildlife and education experience includes animal rehabilitation, performing in Zoo Atlanta’s free-flighted bird show and leading many bird walks for Birds Georgia and numerous nature centers. This FREE event is geared towards adults and children over 12 accomplanied by an adult. PLEASE REGISTER at the ticket link so we know how many to expect.
