About this Event
Museums, Everly Lux, and Chuk Fent @ Le 180g
Montreal's Museums is the psychedelic-rock project of Ali Kouri, Nic Barkun, Anthony Kameka, and Lou Raskin. Their music is characterized by impulsive, evocative vocals coupled with dense, layered guitars, distortion, and driving drums. Museums has performed across Quebec, Ontario, Germany & the Netherlands, in notable spaces such as NXNE, Festival sur le Canal, Rirkrit Tiravanija’s untitled 1996 installation at Fondation PHI, Gain Fest and Nuit Blanche for Montréal Boreal. Their latest singles, In Waves and Ur Best, were released in Spring 2025 via Petit Village Records.
Everly Lux is an experimental folk/pop project inspired by Aldous Harding, Joanna Newsom and Dirty Projectors. The songs weave together a careful mixture of folk songwriting and experimental instrumentation, with extended techniques on cello and soundscapes of modular synths. Described as eerie, dimensional and pure, the beauty of the sound of Everly Lux resides in intricate lyrics, subtle dissonance and stripped down sentimentality.
Chuk Fent belongs to in-between spaces more than he does to any given place. Broody, pensive, and ethereal, his sound blends soul, folk, ambience, and indie rock to create a moody, nostalgic, and layered sound that has drawn comparisons to King Krule, Moses Sumney, and Bon Iver.
