We feel sure everyone will have heard the exciting news about the original bass drum belonging to Cawthorne band. Over 100 years old, the drum had been missing for a number of years when last year, much to Elvin Athey's delight it was discovered hiding in an attic and looking sadly in need of some TLC. This came to Ron Carbutt's attention who immediately suggested that the Repair Shop might help, and he set the wheels in motion.We hope you saw the programme on BBC1 when the Drum was featured.
We now invite you to come along to the museum on our opening day to view the newly refurbished bass drum in person!
The museum will be open again for the season from this date. Weekends and bank holidays 2pm until 5pm.
