Ipswich Museum invites you to a special pop-up event on Thursday, 21st and Friday, 22nd August, taking place between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM at the Buttermarket Centre, Unit 5 on the ground floor. This is a drop-in event suitable for all ages, so visitors are welcome to come along at any time during opening hours.The event will focus on the exciting plans for the new Ipswich Museum. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the themes of the new galleries, view a selection of objects from the museum’s collections that will be featured in future displays, and learn more about the proposed layouts of the new spaces. There will also be creative activities available for all ages, which you can enjoy at your own pace.
A unique highlight on Thursday, 21st August, will be the chance to assist the museum’s conservators in cleaning a buffalo head, which is being prepared for display in the new museum. This hands-on experience offers a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse into the conservation work that helps bring museum exhibits to life.
