Join us Saturday, October 19th from 12:30 to 5:30 P.M. to celebrate the Grand Opening of the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology and the opening of the William Mathers Gallery, which will feature two new exhibitions: Whispers from the Divide and Divine Adornment: Community Stories of Belonging.You are invited to come spend the day with us and enjoy Brazilian fusion ice cream pops from Rasta Pops (1:00-2:30 P.M.), Mexican food from Pili’s Party Taco (1:30-3:30 P.M.), and free baked goods from Crumble Coffee & Bakery. Rasta Pops will be giving away one free ice cream pop per person for the first 80 people in the Museum and Pili’s Party Taco will be giving a $5 voucher to the first 80 people who attend the celebration. We will also offer behind-the-scenes tours of the museum, exhibition-based activities, and live music by the JonyP Quartet (1:00-3:00 P.M.).
This event is entirely free and all are welcome to attend, so we encourage you to spread the word about this event throughout the community. We are thrilled to open our doors to the public and hope to see you there!
Limited complimentary parking is available in front of the museum entrance. Parking is free on weekends in the neighborhoods surrounding the museum and at the nearby Poplars Garage. Paid parking options include the McCalla Building lot off Indiana Avenue, Indiana Memorial Union lots, and metered street parking in the downtown/Sample Gates area.
