Join us for Museum Meet-up at Wakefield Museum once a month on Saturdays for the chance to meet new people, learn about your local area, and get hands-on with some creative fun!Each month explores a different craft, whilst having the opportunity to chat and enjoy a brew and a biscuit.
August 24: We’ll be bundle dyeing using natural dyes to make ribbons and patches inspired by the museum's historical textiles.
September 21: We’ll be making thumb pots and slab vases inspired by ceramics in the museum collection.
October 19: We'll be making notebooks inspired by some of the amazing paperwork in the museum collection.
November 16: We'll be having a go at lino printed, taking inspiration from the museum card collection.
December 21: We'll be making block printed wrapping paper inspired by our printed wallpapers.
January 11: We'll be having a go at fabric painting a scarf inspired by ceramics from the collection.
February 8: We'll be having a go at making a motivational tea light holder inspired by fonts and texts in the collection.
March 8: We'll be making a spring rag wreath inspired by West Yorkshire's textile industries.
All sessions will start in the Learning Zone located in Wakefield Library on the first floor of Wakefield One.
