Explore Leeds City Museum by night in this after-hours event inspired by Day of the Dead.Day of the Dead is a tradition celebrated in Mexico and across Latin America, where families and friends gather to remember those who have died. They make altars in their homes called ofrendas decorated with calveras (colourfully decorated sugar or clay skulls), calacas (skeletons) and marigold flowers. As part of our Living with Death exhibition we’re bringing this unique festival to Leeds, for one night only!
Join a workshop with artist Ellie Harrison who created a beautiful ofrenda for the exhibition, and meet our curators for a mini guided tour. There will be fun creative drop-in activities, a DJ, bar, and Mexican themed food stall. The whole museum is open to explore in this exclusive after-hours event.
Tickets £10 each. Doors open 5.30pm.
