About this Event
Experience a custom-designed, intimate gathering of designers and scientists during the Munich Creative Business Week (mcbw).
The Munich Design Institute is an integrative research institute at TUM on a mission to bring together academic researchers, design practitioners, representatives of industry and public organizations, and the community. The institute catalyzes design research to evolve a sophisticated approach to design and create equally visionary, strategic, and practical solutions for a hopeful future.
In short, we believe that the combination of rigorous scientific research and the power of creative imagination can ultimately help us shape societal change.
This is easier said than done. Even just bringing together a group of researchers from different disciplines at a university means that different disciplinary languages will collide. Add a variety of designers, representatives of industry organizations, and members of the public, and collaboration can become all but impossible.
During the winter semester 2024/25, a group of students took on the challenge to design core experiences that would make the Munich Design Institute an inclusive place that fosters collaboration and creates a vibrant community.
The students designed thoughtful interactions, inspiring spaces, and meaningful details. During this highly curated event, you will get to experience the first implementation of their designs.
Be ready to participate and be in conversation, sharing your ideas for meaningful research, on the future of design, and big questions that move you. Prior sign-up and commitment is a must.
