Every month we will invite a featured artist, creative, or maker to show their work and offer brief remarks at 5:45 pm. For October, we are featuring the work of artist and educator Rodney Overla. He sculpts with clay and paper, including a series of seasonal sculptures in paper mache, and paints with oils and watercolors. Mr. Overla taught art at Cowan High School for 33 years before retiring in 2019, and is a graduate of Ball State University with an art degree in textile and weaving and a minor in visual communication.
Stop by for First Thursday on October 2 from 5 to 7 pm in the lobby of Muncie Civic Theatre for the MuncieArts Artist Spotlight.
