Celebrating you, because Mums Matter!

We know and understand how sleep can be very challenging for many parents, whether you have a newborn or an older baby or child. This event is here to help you!

For our October event we're being joined by Sleep Consultant Rebecca from Sleep Tight Baby to talk about babies, children and sleep, and in particular night-time parenting, and ways to manage it, however this looks for your family. However you're managing sleep and parenthood, we'de love to have you at the event; to share the tricky bits, and discuss ways to manage sleep challenges.

We're planning an informal discussion, and you're welcome to come along and contribute, or sit and listen. Whatever works for you!
Whether you are a regular, haven't attended in ages or have never been before, you can be assured of a warm welcome, and we really look forward to seeing you

Booking essential: So we can manage numbers and space in the hall, please book a free ticket now for each adult (don't worry about tickets for babes in arms) on Eventbrite here.

This breakfast and its activities are totally free to book for you to enjoy with or without your little ones thanks to local grants. We do ask for donations on the door towards our ongoing maternal mental health support so please do come prepared to donate generously as you are able.

School run and arrivals: You can come straight from the school run (if you do one) and enjoy the festivities while others arrive. We will start at 9.30 and have activities from 10.00. You can head off when you need to and we will pack away at 11.30.

Pre-schoolers and babies are welcome: Your pre school children are welcome, there will be toys for them to play while you enjoy yourself. And our team will be on hand to help with entertaining them while you craft, so you can get some time to concentrate! (please note children will stay in the same room, and you'll remain responsible for them)

You don't have to come with children: By the way, you don't have to come with children and you don't have to access sleep support. Just come and relax with us over breakfast!

Getting to Thanington Resource Centre, Canterbury:Thanington Road is on the bus route out of Canterbury to Ashford, up Wincheap Road. The Centre is only 5 minutes walk from Wincheap park and ride. There is plenty of parking, friendly staff and accessible toilets for us to use.
Health Professional Support: If you're coming for some specific support, perhaps perinatal mental health or feeding support, our specialists will be on hand to help. Please let us know if we can help!

Introducing Hannah, your host for this Mums Matter Breakfast
I've been working with families and children for 25 years (since I started babysiting at 15!) I'm now an IBCLC (Lactation Consultant) and most importantly I'm a mum myself. I recognise how important it is to make time and space for activites that bring us joy. I really hope you'll join us for what promises to be a great morning!
I'll be on hand at the events not only to host, but also to offer feeding support, so please do let me know if there's anything I can help with, maybe painful breastfeeding, unsettled babies, bottle refusal, navigating teething or starting solids, or maybe returning to work...or anything else! I'll be happy to help.

Introducing Aileen from My Birth Support CIC:

You matter mum, it's vital that you know that! If no one cares for you, how can you keep giving out to everyone else? I'm a mum too and I remember how full on it was when my children were babies and pre-schoolers. Celebration in our lives is essential! The transition into parenthood is daunting and overwhelming when it's going well, never mind if you have had a difficult or traumatic experience in the process.

I've been supporting the emotional wellbeing of mums, parents and families for over 11 years now after overcoming Tokophobia (fear of childbirth) myself. I'd love to offer this pampering time to you because mums matter, because YOU matter!I look forward to seeing you there!"
Aileen will be on hand to offer Perinatal Mental Health support, so please let us know if you'd benefit from a chat!
