We meet once a month on Sunday afternoons for 2.5hours at St Leonards Hall near Magdalen Road/Exeter. With three spots currently open, this is a wonderful opportunity to connect with other mums while supporting your child through the transition into adolescence.
What We Do:
Our group blends fun, creativity, and meaningful discussions around important topics like:
-Mental health and wellbeing
-Body changes and self-care
-Body image
-Identity and confidence building
-LGBTQ+ topics
-Menstrual cycles and
-Social media and communication
Each session includes a check-in, a game, a themed activity (often art & craft-based), and time for mums and young people to share and connect. We also tackle anonymous questions from the young people to foster openness and learning. To keep sessions relevant to young people's experiences and curiosities the topic is chosen partly by the young people's input and conversations with the carers about what they would find valuable for their young people.
Why Join?
Formed during the pandemic, our group is a welcoming space for mums and young people to build community and prepare for the challenges of puberty whilst being in a supportive space & having fun. We learn with and from each others, share experience and offer choices for participation.
