With Post-Natal yoga it is very important to be able to take it home, to do whilst feeding, talking to friends or even in bed otherwise it can become another demand. These exercises are designed to be easy and can be done in daily life.
Gradually feeling rewards will lead to women feeling more confident physically, mentally, and emotionally.
AIM:
- To introduce new mums to the Fourth Trimester – the development, physiology and emotions of the fourth trimester and how these affect the yoga that will be the most benefit at this time
- Yoga for early post Partum recovery – zero balance supine, post natal breathing
- Simple ways to realign the spine and stabilise the pelvis in early Post Partum
- Teach simple practices suitable to all woman to help close and realign body after birth.
Post- Partum Focus for period 0-12 weeks:
- Support adaption to change : physical, mental, emotional and spiritual
- Promote positive relations between mother and baby
- Stabilise pelvis
- Realign spine
- Open chest
- Strengthen weak tummy muscles and check for Diastatis Recti (abdominal separation)
- Deep breathing to help the organs find their place again. Breath is calming and promotes oxytocin release (the happy hormone)
- Relieve neck and shoulder stiffened from feeding and carrying baby.
