Producer and director, Ben Cavey is thrilled to announce that Black Mirror’s Milanka Brooks will be performing her solo show at The Lyric Hyperion for one night only! She will then be making her eagerly awaited Edinburgh Fringe Festival debut in August with this deeply personal and hilarious new show about her relationship with her flamboyant Serbian mother, Lela. A female double-act who would discuss everything from perfecting their exercise routine to libertine lovers to scissoring. Funny, candid and poignant, you're invited on a journey that will leave you feeling inspired and ready to take on the world, “Dat is inevitable”, as Lela would say. But the big question is, why do Milanka and her Mum not talk anymore?
When Milanka is not writing, she can be seen as Elena Tulaska in the Emmy award-winning episode of Black Mirror; USS Callister on Netflix, and she is currently filming a top secret show for one of the major streamers. Further credits include the multi-award winning BBC1 sitcom, My Family and she is best known for playing Ionela in ITV’s Benidorm, and Princess Svetlana in Netflix’s The Windsors.
