Workshop Description:
This 2-day workshop is designed to teach multi-sensory math techniques to math instructors, classroom teachers, tutors, academic language therapists, and academic language practitioners. The multi-sensory math strategies and techniques taught in this workshop can be seamlessly integrated with any math curriculum.
Multisensory Math stresses the mastery of concepts and computations by integrating multi-sensory teaching techniques into any math curriculum. The techniques taught in the workshop are designed for Kindergarten through Eighth grades. Concrete materials are introduced before paper and pencil tasks and incorporate learning through the senses. V-A-K (Visual-seeing, Auditory-hearing, and Kinesthetic-feeling/touching) is an integral part of multi-sensory math training and techniques.
Workshop highlights include:
• Digital Multisensory Math Instruction Resource Binder included. Participants can pre-order a printed copy of the binder for $50.
• Hands on activities in each area of instruction
• Make & Take Manipulatives & Math Centers
• Technology integration for math concepts and incorporating math across the curriculum strategies.
• Innovative ways to assess mastery of math concepts.
• Reflection on each area of instruction to provide participants with a “thinking and implementation map” of skills learned.

About the instructor:
Vonda McFarling is a Licensed Dyslexia Therapist and Certified Academic Language Therapist. She has spent 28 of her 35 years of teaching experience working exclusively with students with learning differences. Multisensory Math and Multisensory Reading instruction are her teaching passions.
