A professional development workshop.
About this Event

This workshop aims to explore participants' values, encouraging them to reflect on questions such as "Who am I?" and "Where am I going?" This introspective phase will set the foundation for the second half, where the focus will shift towards the likelihood of multilingual communities engaging in theatre spaces. The workshop will emphasize practical approaches to working on the ground and in various fields with bilingual communities, providing valuable insights into how and where these interactions can take place.

Facilitator

Justyna Cwojdzińska, a Polish artist, theatre practitioner, and voice-over creator, has been active in Ireland since 2005. She is the artistic director of the Polish Arts Festival. An alumna of the LEAP Programme with Baborὀ & Moonfish Theatre, she was also the recipient of the Young People and Children Education Bursary Award from the Arts Council Ireland in 2023. Justyna is a Vital SPARK Artist for 2023/2024, collaborating with Baborὀ International Festival for Children and the SPARK Arts for Children in the UK. Her recent work focuses on young audiences, utilising masks, storytelling, and physical theatre to explore the nature of bilingual and non-verbal performance. She wrote and directed “Elemental Tales 2,” involving Polish and Ukrainian community members, which was a huge success at Culture Night 2023. Justyna also conducts drama workshops for young bilingual audiences.

This workshop is part of the Cultural Diversity Programme, an initiative of the South Dublin County Arts Office, developed and delivered by Mother Tongues with the support of the Cultural Diversity Steering Group, Tallaght.
