About this Event
Step up for 'Mo' Healthy Men, Healthier families and communities - COMMUNITY AMBASSADORS FOSTERING THE FACE OF MEN'S BETTER HEALTH
Did you know...
- Australian men are more likely to get sick from serious health problems than Australian women?
- Men die in greater numbers than women from almost every non-sex-specific health problem?
- Compared to women, men visit the doctor less frequently, have shorter visits, and only attend when their illness is in its later stages?
- 60 men commit suicide each hour?
- Prostate cancer is more likely to develop in older men and in non-Hispanic Black men?
Come join us on this special occasion to enjoy succulent culturally appropriate dinner, meet new people, share experiences, and support each other on the journey to a healthier lifestyle.
Guess what? Do you have an unswered question? A men's health expert will be present to attend to your questions. Don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity to prioritise your health and make a positive impact on the world around you!
KEYNOTE SPEAKERS/TRAINERS/PRESENTERS
- Dr Emmanuel Ndukwe
- ................ (More names coming)
- Connected CALD Seniors & Women Representatives
- GirlForce Vic Youth Ambassadors
We encourage that men should attend with their spouses and children, as this Dinner will create a safe space where men, women and children (young people) will be in separate spaces, leaving adult men from the age of 25 onwards to interact, male-to-male hearts.
PARENTS WITH UNDER 18 YEAR OLDS
Are you worried about where to leave your under 18s? Bring your under 18 year olds because 'Child-minding' and 'Parent Space' will be provided. Bring familiar toys, and such like that your child/children are already used to, to settle them and allow you to interact with other males and females. Young people will participate in 'fun' activities - hands-on, audio-visual, written and such like.
Everyone will be nurtured, accordingly.
AfriAus iLEAC acknowledges all its Partners for their ongoing collaboration.
