About this Event
Four-Week Program
Wednesdays, March 4 through March 25
5 PM to 8 PM
Ages 10 to 15
This registration includes four full classes as part of a structured, four-week clay program designed specifically for middle school artists. The price covers participation in all four Wednesday sessions, allowing students to build skills over time in a consistent, supportive studio environment.
Many students do not get access to pottery wheels until high school. This program offers a rare opportunity to experience both hand-building and real time on the wheel across multiple weeks, giving students the chance to learn, practice, and improve with each class.
Each session builds on the previous one. Students will learn new techniques through guided demonstrations, followed by extensive hands-on practice. Over the four classes, they will throw basic forms on the wheel, sculpt and build by hand, and learn how to attach handles and decorative elements to create finished ceramic pieces.
Class size is intentionally kept small to ensure individualized instruction, especially during wheel throwing, where one-on-one support makes a significant difference. This multi-week format allows students to gain confidence, revisit techniques, and see real progress from week to week.
This program is ideal for curious, creative kids who enjoy working with their hands and want a deeper experience than a one-day workshop. In addition to technical skills, students develop patience, problem solving abilities, and confidence through the process of making.
All clay, tools, and materials are included with registration. Students will take home finished ceramic pieces at the end of the four-week program.
